CRIMSON SNOW™
Tangara Nursery has been granted an exclusive Master Licence to propagate and sell the new apple variety Trade Mark Crimson Snow™ in Australia. Crimson Snow™ apple variety originated in Victoria during the late 1990's. It was found as a chance seedling in an existing apple orchard in Harcourt and was first commercially planted in 2003 under the Crimson Snow™ Managed Variety Program.
MAWFU™
Mawfu is a red, block- coloured sport of Fuji . Visually it is more attractive with a better blush colour than a Fuji with a crunchier texture. Tangara Nursery is currently testing the variety under a Trial Agreement granted by Sunglo Varieties Ltd in Havelock North, New Zealand.
ZARI™ & ZONGA™
Zari and Zonga are two new varieties originating from Belgium. Zari is a hybrid of Elstar and Delbarestivale bred in Belgium by Bette3Fruit and assigned to Belgium nurseries, Carolus C and Rene Nicolai. Zonga is a hybrid of Alkemene and Delbora. Both varieties are in the early testing stages at Tangara Nursery under a trial agreement with Giston Consulting Services WA.
KANZI™
Kanzi is an exciting new bright red apple variety with a unique fresh, juicy flavour and crunchy tangy bite. The word Kanzi means "hidden treasure" in Swahili. It is a hybrid of Gala and Braeburn originating in Belgium. The firm flesh and attractive red blush has made it a successful and popular apple in Europe. Tangara Nursery is growing Kanzi under a licence granted by Giston Consulting Services on behalf of GKE(Greenstar Kanzi Europe) NV, Belgium.
GREENSTAR™
Greenstar (Nicogreen) is a new variety imported from Belgium. This green apple is born from a cross between Granny Smith and Delbarestival. It has a powerful crunch and flavour similar to a Golden Delicious. Tangara Nursery is growing Greenstar under a licence granted by Giston Consulting Services on behalf of GKE(Greenstar Kanzi Europe) NV, Belgium.
FIERO™
Fiero is a new early Fuji variety originating in the USA. It was discovered as a whole tree mutation in a block of early Fuji strain in Prescott, Washington State. The skin has a dark reddish over colour in a solid blush with a creamy white, moderately firm, juicy flesh. The main difference with ordinary Fuji is the ripening-approx 4-6 weeks earlier with excellent colour and flavour and good keeping qualities. Tangara Nursery has been successfully growing Fiero under a licence granted by APFIP, Australia, on behalf of Snyder LLC, Washington State, USA.
ALVINA™
Alvina is a new variety of Gala, discovered in Victoria, Australia. It is distinguished from other varieties by the high level of colour with a solid flush with stripes and matures earlier than other Gala selections. Tangara Nursery is growing Alvina under a license granted by Tahune Fields, Lucaston, Tasmania.
GRANNY SMITH
Granny Smith apples have a rich green skin with a crisp, firm, juicy, greenish-white flesh with a distinctive tart flavour which is excellent for cooking. Originated in Sydney, Australia in 1868 by Maria Anne "Granny" Smith. Now one of the major apple varieties grown around the world.
CRIPPS PINK/PINK LADY
The popular Pink Lady apple variety was originally bred by John Cripps at the WA Department of Agriculture by crossing Lady William with Golden Delicious. It is one of the first and best known club varieties. Many sports are being patented. Pink Lady has a sweet, crisp, delicious flavour. Pink Lady is a medium sized round to oblong shape and can be identified by a yellowish skin overlaid with a pink to light red blush. Excellent eating out of hand.
SUNDOWNER
Sundowner has a dark red skin and round shape. Its most prominent feature is white lenticels on the skin. Sugar levels improve with storage so it is a sweet, flavoursome apple. Sundowner is a cross between Lady William and Golden Delicious originating in WA.
RED DELICIOUS
Red Delicious live up to their name with a bright to dark red colour and sweet, juicy flesh. It has a conical shape characterised by five distinct crowns on the base. Red delicious originated in Iowa, USA.
GALA
A medium, round shaped, sweet apple originating in New Zealand. Gala are characterised by pale pink to bright red blush on the skin. The colour varies from yellow to almost orange with deep orange stripes. It has a dense sweet, aromatic and juicy with white flesh originating in NZ.
FUJI
Fuji are medium to large, flat-round shaped apples. Fuji apples have a dull crimson colour skin with firm, dense flesh. The high water and sugar content make Fuji apples very juicy and suitable for cooking as it retains its shape. Fuji originated in Japan where it is a major variety.

To secure your rootstock requirements growers need to order by August. Confirmation of variety needs to be requested by early December.
One Year Old Bench Grafts
Confirmation of rootstock, variety and number needs to be requested by July for delivery the following year.
